GCF To Host Community Celebration in Honor of 25th Anniversary

The Greater Cedarburg Foundation (GCF) will host a free, community-wide celebration in honor of its 25th  anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 27, from noon to 4 p.m. on the lawn outside City Hall and inside the Community Gym. All Cedarburg area residents are invited to join the festivities which will include musical entertainment, family-friendly activities and a nonprofit fair.

The event will kick off at noon with a brief parade led by members of the American Legion starting at the Cedarburg Fire Department and crossing the Interurban Bridge to the stage area in front of City Hall.

Following a short welcome, there will be a performance by the Cedarburg Civic Band and a demonstration by the Cedarburg Poms dance team.

The entertainment will continue when musical duo Whitney Clapper-Brostrom and Stephen O’Morrow take the stage. Clapper-Brostrom, a singer-songwriter from Cedarburg, is known for her strong vocal performances, with O’Morrow adding harmonies and accompaniment on guitar. From 2 to 4 p.m., the community will be treated to the smooth rock sounds of “Whole Yachta Love.” The band, which is being sponsored by the Rotary Club of Cedarburg-Grafton, is comprised of six talented Midwestern musicians performing hits from the late ‘70s and early ‘80s.

Inside the Community Gym, more than a dozen local nonprofit organizations will have booths available with information about the services they offer. A dedicated Kids’ Zone will be located in the City Hall parking lot offering a variety of children’s activities including a bounce house, face painting, craft stations and lawn games. The Cedarburg Fire Department will be there to give children the opportunity to check out one of their fire trucks.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the afternoon. In case of inclement weather, all activities will move inside the gym.
